Visit
the Studio
CREARE Atami–Yugawara Studio offers opportunities for visitors to explore the Studio.
The main studio building, situated on an expansive site, houses workshops for the production of Stained Glass and Ceramic Relief. A visit offers a rare opportunity to experience the atmosphere of a working studio: artisans immersed in their craft, artworks gradually taking shape, the beauty of the materials, and the large kilns used to fire ceramics. When available, members of our staff may also share insights into the ideas and techniques behind their work.
The Studio also has a showroom where visitors can view not only large-scale art but also Stained Glass for interiors, art objects, and smaller items. Some items are available for purchase.
CREARE Atami–Yugawara Studio is an art studio specializing in Stained Glass and Ceramic Relief.
Many of the artworks created here have been installed as Public Art in stations, airports, and other public facilities. Over the years, the Studio has collaborated with numerous renowned artists to produce a wide variety of artworks.
Our skilled artisans create each piece by hand using the finest materials, including antique glass produced by Glashütte Lamberts in Germany. While preserving traditional materials and techniques, we continue to conduct research and explore new possibilities of artistic expression.
CREARE Atami–Yugawara Studio has
a Stained Glass workshop on the first floor
and a Ceramic Relief workshop on the second floor.
CREARE Atami–Yugawara Studio is situated on an expansive site of approximately 13,000 square meters at the foot of Hakone, one of Japan’s leading hot spring destinations.
Designed by architect KUMA Kengo, the Studio is equipped with a glaze research facility, a firing sample room, a Stained Glass studio, a showroom, and other specialized facilities.
