Studio Leader / Stained Glass Grand Master

NAKANO Ryushi

After specializing in mural painting at the Graduate School of Tokyo University of the Arts, NAKANO encountered Stained Glass in 1990. Since joining the Studio in 1996, he has worked on the production and direction of numerous Public Art projects. Highly trusted by artists, he is also committed to training the next generation at Tokyo University of the Arts and other educational institutions.

Studio Leader / Ceramic Relief Glaze Team Leader

SUZUMURA Atsuo

SUZUMURA completed the graduate program in mural painting at Tokyo University of the Arts and earned a doctorate in cultural property conservation from the same university. After receiving a grant to study in Italy, he participated in the restoration of murals at World Heritage sites. Since joining the Studio in 2014, he has been engaged in glaze development and production. In addition to teaching the next generation at Tokyo University of the Arts, other art universities, and universities of education, he has pursued glaze research as a specially appointed associate professor at the Institute of Science Tokyo since 2026.

FUKUI Hideo

FUKUI has worked at the Studio since 1981. A veteran with extensive knowledge of every stage of Stained Glass production, from fabrication to installation, he possesses some of the Studio’s finest technical skills and a wealth of experience. Having supported countless artworks and installation sites over the years, he serves as a living archive of the Studio and also plays an important role in connecting the Studio with the local community.

YAMAKI Ikuto

One of the Studio’s most versatile artisans, YAMAKI works on mural production using a wide range of materials, including Stained Glass and mosaic. He has worked at the Studio since 1983 and lives by the words of its first director, FRANSEN Louis: “Whenever you notice something, create whatever you can.”

Master Artisan / Ceramic Relief Sculpting Grand Master

TANIMOTO Jiro

TANIMOTO graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at Tokyo Zokei University, where he specialized in sculpture. A specialist in three-dimensional form, he is highly skilled not only in sculpting techniques but also in installation, spatial production, and every stage of creating an artwork within an architectural environment. Since joining the Studio in 1984, he has supported its development through the deep knowledge gained from his extensive experience.

Stained Glass Team Leader

TAKISHIMA Miyuki

TAKISHIMA completed the mural painting program at the Graduate School of Tokyo University of the Arts. She has worked at the Studio since 2014 and is also active as a Stained Glass artist.

Ceramic Relief Sculpting Team Leader

ISHII Daisuke

ISHII graduated from the Department of Sculpture at Musashino Art University. After working in sculptural production and teaching at an art preparatory school, he joined the Studio in 2023.

HATA Chinami

Having also studied Stained Glass in France, HATA excels in detailed handwork, including glass-painting techniques.

OHNUKI Makoto

In addition to production work, OHNUKI oversees the Studio’s wide range of digital data and related operations.

YONEYAMA Kenichi

YONEYAMA has worked at the Studio for approximately 40 years and is involved in every stage of Ceramic Relief production, from sculpting to glazing.

KOIZUMI Ayako

KOIZUMI brings a warm and positive atmosphere to the Studio and is currently developing her expertise in glazing.
