At CREARE Atami–Yugawara Studio, we create a wide range of art—from large-scale Public Art installed in stations, airports, and other public facilities to small- and medium-scale artworks that enrich shops and homes.
No two artworks are alike, and their production methods and styles vary widely.
Our ability to develop diverse forms of expression according to the location and concept allows each artwork to harmonize with its surroundings and reveal new possibilities within the space.

Public Art

Our Public Art is created at CREARE Atami–Yugawara Studio, one of the largest studios of its kind in Japan, through meticulous collaboration among highly skilled artisans.
Working with artists from a diverse range of fields, we have brought art to many different settings—from large public facilities such as stations, airports, schools, hospitals, and hotels to shops, private residences, trains, shrines, and temples.
We use high-quality, exceptionally durable Ceramic Relief and Stained Glass, often described as “materials that last a thousand years.” Requiring virtually no maintenance, they retain their beauty and vibrant colors over time.
Central to our production process is “Translate”: the careful interpretation and reconstruction of the artist’s intentions and emotions embodied in the Original Painting. We take unwavering confidence and pride in the creativity and technical expertise through which we breathe new life into an Original Painting and express it on a dramatically larger scale while making full use of the qualities of each material.
Combining delicacy with dynamism, our Public Art harmonizes with architecture, enhances the character of each space, and creates meaningful forms of communication that enrich the hearts of those who pass through it.

Stained Glass

The production of a Stained Glass artwork begins by examining the installation space and its light sources, then selecting the glass best suited to the Original Painting.
Using a full-scale production drawing as a guide, our artisans envision the finished artwork and design its composition—determining where each piece of glass should be placed and which colors and textures should be used.
Expressing the full world of an artwork in a way that only glass can achieve requires not only a deep understanding of the Original Painting and the materials, but also intuition, inspiration, and judgment developed through extensive experience.
We use rare German glass produced using traditional hand-blown techniques passed down since the Middle Ages. Its remarkable transparency and richly varied brilliance, regarded as among the finest qualities found in antique glass, create breathtaking beauty.

Ceramic Relief

The appeal of Ceramic Relief lies in the warmth and texture of clay, the expressive colors created by glazes, and its intricate yet bold three-dimensional forms.
Our ceramic clay is based on highly plastic Shigaraki clay and blended according to the characteristics of each artwork. Using a small-scale model that interprets and reconstructs the Original Painting in three dimensions, our artisans sculpt the artwork at full size.
The form is then refined while considering its overall balance and how it will be viewed after installation, including the height and angle of the sightlines of people passing through the space.
Our collection of more than 6,500 glaze colors can transform the appearance of an artwork in countless ways, depending not only on how the glazes are blended but also on their compatibility with the clay, the firing temperature, and chemical changes in their components.
Combining dynamic sculptural forms with the subtle artistry of glazing, each Ceramic Relief is a truly unique artwork, shaped by both meticulous planning and unpredictable effects beyond our expectations.

Interiors & Objects

We create a broad range of artworks, from small pieces that enrich the home to medium-scale installations for shops and commercial facilities.
Drawing on our experience in producing art for a wide variety of environments, we propose the most appropriate specifications and artwork for each setting.
Through artworks that reflect the characteristics and environment of the space while remaining attentive to the intentions of those who use it, we help create welcoming and relaxing surroundings.
We also plan and produce art objects, including commemorative items.

Interiors

The art we create is not limited by location or scale. It can be installed in private residences, shops, trains, shrines, temples, and many other settings.
Because we can develop a wide range of expressions according to the location and concept, each artwork blends naturally into its surroundings and reveals new possibilities within the space.
Our art enriches every place where people gather and spend time.
