Currently working as an art director at CREARE Atami-Yugawara Studio (From 1996). Mainly working on stained glasses and other mural paintings to be installed in public spaces such as stations and schools. Continue to produce stained glasses at the home atelier also. Production Notes
The Ainu people, who have long lived in harmony with the natural world, have traditionally revered the spirits, or kamuy, believed to dwell in all things—animals, plants, mountains, lakes, and even natural phenomena. Traditional Ainu patterns also carry meanings of protection, serving as talismans to ward off evil and bring good fortune.
This stained glass artwork combines the rich natural landscapes of Hokkaido and its wildlife with traditional Ainu motifs. Created to wish travelers safe journeys and lasting memories of Hokkaido, it offers a warm farewell as they depart.
