Production Notes
Heihachiro Fukuda (1892-1974), a Japanese-style painter born in Oita city, established a unique decorative style by vivid colors and simplified forms based on realism, and worked as a master representing the painting circle in Japan from Taisho era to Showa era. This mural is a stereoscopic representation of a Japanese-style painting called “Aogaki (Green persimmon)”, which was made based on the sketch which Fukuda painted in Oita, his hometown. On the left and right, Fukuda’s masterpiece “Sazanami (Ripples)” capturing the water surface swaying by the wind is partly attached.
