In 1997, this artwork was relocated from the Kyoto Station Central Gate to the Kyoto Station Haruka Platform.

Artist's Comments
西山画伯は当時を回想してこう語っておられますRegarding the production days, painter Nishiyama said, “When I heard this plan, I worried if I can produce such a great work at first. However, I found that there was no such artistic object in Kyoto, the first cultural city in Japan, unfortunately. So I could not say “I can’t do”, when I tought about Mr. Taki’s last wishes to produce the first one.”
“Four Seasons of 36 Peaks in Kyo-Raku Higashiyama”, the brilliant original picture, was completed through the above story.
